Tingkat Kerusakan Batang Akibat Serangan Hama Pada Tegakan Jati

Abstract

Jati (Tectona grandis Linn) merupakan salah satu kayu komersil bermutu tinggi dan termasuk salah satu jenis tanaman hutan andalan yang banyak dikembangkan. Penanaman jati di kabupaten buru di mulai pada tahun 2006 dalam bentuk monokultur. Bentuk hutan tanaman yang homogen menyebabkan tanaman jati rentan terhadap serangan hama di lapangan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui persentase tingkat kerusakan batang serta pengaruhnya terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman jati di desa Lamahang. Pengamatan dilakukan pada 4 petak contoh dengan ukuran masing-masing plot yaitu 20 m x 50 m (0.1 Ha). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hama yang menyerang batang jati adalah rayap genus Nasutitermes sp. Rata-rata persentase serangan rayap termasuk dalam kategori sedang (23.85%) sedangkan persentase tingkat kerusakan batang rata-rata termasuk dalam kategori ringan (10.05%).
